GIGA-BYTE TECHNOLOGY earned Symbol of Excellence awards for all 22 products entered into competition. This is the seventh consecutive year that GIGA-BYTE has earned a 100% success rate of products submitted for the Taiwan Symbol of Excellence. No other company in the IT industry has come close to this achievement. Even more exciting is that GIGABYTE's NB-1401 Notebook, HA Home Entertainment Computer and TC series Mini PC have been nominated for National Awards of Excellence. The sheer number of nominations provides clear evidence of the superiority and strengths of GIGA-BYTE's excellence on R&D ability, Quality assurance, and Brand promotion.

The Board of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Taiwan Trade Development Council (TAITRA) are the agencies responsible for carrying out comprehensive promotion of Taiwan's product image, on which the Ministry of Economic Affairs places much importance. Taiwan Symbol of Excellence winning products undergo strict evaluation in five categories: research and development/innovation, design, quality system, market position and brand recognition, and carry the InnoValue mark associated with this award. TAITRA has registered the InnoValue mark in more than 90 countries and regions around the globe, and works to promote the mark both at home and abroad, building awareness among members of industry and consumers.

he purpose of the InnoValue mark is to create a strong international image for Taiwan's products and an easy way to differentiate innovative, quality products in overseas markets. Since the inception of this awards program, much effort has been placed on transforming Taiwan's product image, with emphasis on the innovation and value of Taiwanese made products. Through a diversity of trade and economic networks, Taiwan's InnoValue products are being promoted in international markets.

The first phase of judging for the 12th annual Taiwan Symbol of Excellence resulted in
377 winning products. Among them, were 22 GIGA-BYTE products, representing 100% of the company's products submitted for consideration. Among the 25 products nominated for entry into the next phase of judging for the National Awards of Excellence are three of GIGA-BYTE's products: NB-1401 notebook computer, HA home entertainment computer and TC series mini PC.

The NB-1401 notebook features a stylish exterior, building on Taiwan's image for developing products of outstanding quality and design. In addition to being a portable personal computer, the NB-1401 notebook is a mobile office computer platform. The size of the HA home entertainment computer is comparable to that of a standard DVD player. However, this product can do more than play DVDs, including VCD, MP3, PHOTO CD, FM and karaoke functions. But that's not all. It also possesses set top box function and all of the functions of a PC. This is a comprehensive home entertainment center, allowing the whole family to watch TV or a DVD, play games, enjoy a round of karaoke or surf the Internet. The TC series mini PC is suited for both home and office use, and makes use of GIGA-BYTE's motherboard superiority, incorporating functionality and efficiency into a compact space, and breaking through the image of "small size, low efficiency" of competing products.

In addition to being able to compete for Taiwan's highest product design honors, the National Awards of Excellence, these three products will be part of a Taiwan InnoValue display at the CKS International Airport and the Taipei Sungshan Airport and an international promotion of Taiwan's product image.

In the press release to announce the 12th annual Taiwan Symbol of Excellence winners and National Awards of Excellence nominees, it was noted that GIGA-BYTE Technology is a consistent winner among computer hardware manufacturers. The most recent Taiwan Symbol of Excellence products from GIGA-BYTE total 22, including five motherboard models, four graphics card types, four server products, three communication products and six personal computer and peripherals models.
